A beautiful artist has passed away...

One of my favorite woodworkers, Sam Maloof, passed away this last Thursday.

He made the most beautiful pieces of art out of wood. Below is one of his most famous creations.

He will be missed...

Very Cool Underwater Scupltures

This short film shows the early stages of coral regeneration on Jason deCaires Taylor underwater sculptures in Moiliniere Bay, Grenada. The UK-based artist is also working on the world’s largest underwater sculpture park, which is being developed off Cancun, Mexico. His sculptures offer aesthetic and artistic pleasure for divers and snorkellers, as well as perfect surfaces for young coral polyps to attach themselves and set up home. You can find out more about his unique work and maybe even contribute to one of his sculptures by going to: http://www.underwatersculpture.com/

Your time is limited, so don't waste it...

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

A Creative Mind

The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: a human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him, a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create - so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating.
